One of the primary constituencies with whom WSS works is women. Most of these women are from lower strata of the society and are engaged in zari and zardozi work, primarily to augment income of their families.
They are subjected to violence every now and then. It is inhuman and illegal as well and leads to balkanisation of women. It is also seen that to a certain extent women themselves are responsible for violence against them as they silently bear violence of husbands or their kin.
WSS is organising events in the region to make the women aware of their rights so that they can legally fight violence against them. With the continued awareness generation attempts, women have become aware of the laws formulated for them.
